Can you feel that little shift in the air? š Iām starting to think about Fallāand soon our skin will feel the shift too.
Weāve spent the summer months keeping things calm, protected, and hydrated through all that sun, heat, and humidity. Now, September gives us a chance to check in, reassess, and start thinking about what your skin needs for the season ahead.
Peel season at Aviva SKN is around the corner, and the best results often start with what we do beforehand. Depending on your skin, preparation might mean adjusting or introducing targeted actives temporarily to make sure your skin is ready for more active treatments.
Here's to a new season together at Aviva - I hope you enjoy this monthās journal.
Important News -
A quick update on ClearChoice Sport Shield SPF 45 āļø
As you know there is currently a shortage of the 4 oz ClearChoice Sport Shield, but I was able to secure the 2 oz size to keep on hand for clients until the 4 oz is back in stock.
I also have Mushroom Shield SPF 50 available as another option. It has the light texture and botanical scent we love in the Sport Shield, plus its formula incorporates an antioxidant powerhouse of reishi, cordyceps, chaga, and turkey tail mushrooms for additional environmental defense alongside its broad-spectrum UV protection.
If youāre running low on your current sunscreen, just let me know and I can help you decide which option makes the most sense for your skin.
A reminder about our 30 minute standalone Wellness options (many of which can be incorporated into your SKN appt) such as Lymphatic Massage, Red Light Therapy, Infrared Sauna Blanket, Oxygen Dome Therapy, Grounding Therapy.Ā They would make wonderful gifts for a spouse or special person who might enjoy something other than facial therapy (can you believe that).Ā I'd be happy to help you put together a custom selection to gift someone this holiday season š
Another NEW AVIVA option we are introducing are private events at Aviva.Ā Whether a candlelit appointment for two, a small group Friendsgiving or Holiday social, or even an employee appreciation event, I can work with you to come up with something special and unique š«
Peel season is coming, and one question I get asked every year is: āDo you offer lasers?ā
The short answer is noābut thereās a lot more behind that answer than simply choosing one treatment over another.
Peels and resurfacing lasers can both create meaningful changes in the skin, but they do it in very different ways. So letās talk about whatās actually happening beneath the surface, why I choose peels, and how I think about resurfacing differently.
Think of microcurrent as a little workout for your faceāwithout breaking a sweat. š
Using gentle electrical currents, microcurrent works with the facial muscles to help lift, tone, and sculpt the appearance of the face. Itās especially lovely for defining the jawline, cheekbones, and forehead while giving the skin a fresh, lifted look.
The best part? No needles, no downtime, just a little facial fitness. Your skin gets some extra hydration and nourishment along the way, too.
Curious if microcurrent is a good fit for you? Ask me at your next appointment!
This month Iām spotlighting Osmosis Renew and Bio Therapeutic Resilience Serum, 2 retinoidĀ serums I recommend to clients.
Retinol > retinal > retinoic acid (tretinoin) is the conversion pathway for vitamin A. Retinal requires less conversion to reach the biological form that signals the skin to produce fibroblast and collagen.
Osmosis Renew is one of my go-to formulas because it combines retinal with liposomal delivery technology, helping support effective delivery of the vitamin A while keeping the formula approachable for consistent use.Ā
BT Resilience pairs retinal with bakuchiol, a plant-derived ingredient that supports some of the same skin-renewing pathways, plus copper peptides that further support fibroblast signaling and collagen production.
Pro Tip: stronger isnāt always better. Your biology strongly influences how vitamin A is processed, converted, and utilized. I tell clients to prioritize consistency because the body can create storehouses of vitamin A, making long-term use part of the bigger picture.
